Marathon mode — 21 prompts, one descent

A perfect daily dive scores 700 points and reaches the 7,000m trench floor. A marathon triples the prompts to 21, so the ceiling rises to 2,100 points — and the depth meter caps at the same 7,000m trench, which the strongest divers touch well before the final prompt.

Pacing is the whole game

In a 7-prompt dive you can afford to burn 20 seconds hunting for a Deep Cut. In a marathon that habit compounds: twenty-one slow prompts means twenty-one chances to time out, and a timeout scores zero no matter how brilliant the answer in your head was. Marathon players learn to bank a safe Schooler or Rare answer early in the clock, then spend whatever time remains upgrading it in their head before submitting.

The other marathon skill is recovery. A miss at prompt 4 feels fatal; it is not — it is 100 points off a 2,100-point ceiling. The divers who post huge marathon totals are the ones whose next five prompts after a miss look exactly like their first five.

Reading your marathon result

Anything over 900 points means you averaged Rare or better across 21 prompts — genuinely strong. Over 1,200, you were living in Deep Cut territory. And if you touched the trench floor (7,000m) before prompt 21, every point after that was pure style: screenshot it, copy the result, and send someone a challenge.
